In using Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazid Tablets, consideration should be given to the fact that an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor, captopril, has caused agranulocytosis, particularly in patients with renal impairment or collagen vascular disease, and that available data are insufficient to show that lisinopril does not have a similar risk. (See WARNINGS. )



In considering the use of Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazid Tablets, it should be noted that ACE inhibitors have been associated with a higher rate of angioedema in black than in non-black patients. (See WARNINGS, Angioedema. )



Contraindications

Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazid Tablets are contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to this product and in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatment with an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor and in patients with hereditary or idiopathic angioedema. Because of the hydrochlorothiazid component, this product is contraindicated in patients with anuria or hypersensitivity to other sulfonamide-derived drugs.
